Information about all sorts of community groups, facilities and resources within the Kilmallie area.

Kilmallie Community Company

Kilmallie Community Company is our local community enterprise company.  It is not connected to Kilmallie Community Council  though we do have a representative (Jan MacLugash) on its committee.  Its main interest is the community woodland at Corpach.

Kilmallie Community Centre

The community is very lucky to have its own Community Centre in the heart of Corpach. It is owned and maintained by the Kilmallie Community Centre Committee (who are quite separate from the Kilmallie Community Company and the Community Council). The Committee’s hard work on the community’s behalf is hugely appreciated.   The Hall underwent improvements and repairs in 2012.

Kilmallie community gardens

If you live in the farthest-flung reaches of Kilmallie, maybe you never walk through the middle of Corpach, and it’s possible you might not be aware of the beautiful public gardens to the east of Kilmallie Community Centre.

Kilmallie Christmas Lights Fund

This community group was set up in 2013 to organise Christmas trees and decorations at Banavie and Corpach (after Highland Council said they were no longer providing them for communities).

Friends of Banavie Park

This new group was set up in 2014 to look at ways of improving the playpark and surrounding open space at Banavie.

Corpach in Colour

Corpach in Colour do great work, not just to plant up tubs and beds (and the boat, The Maggie, outside Kilmallie Community Centre) but also to run the very successful Flower and Produce Show (see gallery of pictures) and, together with Banavie Floral Improvements, the Garden Competition.

Banavie Floral Improvements

Banavie Floral Improvements volunteers are also doing to great work to make Banavie an even more attractive place, planting up tubs and a great daffodil display (see gallery of pictures).  Together with Corpach in Colour, they organise the annual Garden Competition.

Kilmallie Image Library

For those of you who don’t already know the Kilmallie Image Library website, this is a fantastic online archive of local historical photos. It was established by Magnus Ritch who still maintains it, though he has now moved to Orkney. It’s an absolutely fascinating browse. If you have any old (or not so old) photos of Kilmallie people, places or events please think about sending him copies. We can help you to scan old photos into digital format if you’re not able to do it yourself.

Magnus embarked on this project for the previous Kilmallie Community Council. KCC hugely appreciates what he’s achieved so far, and we hope to continue to support the Image Library in the future.

But sorry, we can’t promote any purely commercial activities unless there is a clear community interest of some sort, and we can’t promote groups with any religious or party-political connections.
