The Highland Council is holding a series of meetings throughout the area to seek views from the public on proposed savings over the next two years of £17.8million as well as how the Council might address a further £11.9million gap that remains. As the financial environment continues to look challenging beyond this two year period, the consultation will also assist in longer term budget planning.

Four main areas are being considered and are as follows:

  • Education
  • Ways of Working
  • Infrastructure and Resources
  • The Environment

Highland Council are looking for the community’s views on where to make budget savings over the next two years. 
This consultation runs till 31st October 2012.
