Heather’s Walk 2014

The sun shone for another great day at Heather’s Walk.  172 people did the walk, some tourists passing stopped and took part in the day.  There were lots of stalls and fun things for all to do.  The horses went down well with the children.  As I write this the total is nearly £6000 with some to come in.  We are selling a 2015 calendar (bit quirky) for £8.  Contact Sarah or myself and the Hospice Shop – all money goes to Highland Hospice.  Again we could not do it without the terrific support from you all.
Many thanks
Maggie/Sarah and all the team.

Heather’s Walk 2013

From Margaret and Sarah:
“Once again the sun shone for the 200 people that completed the walk.   Sarah the Bumble Bee, Raj the Piper and Phil the Coastguard led everyone off.  A BIG thank you to all the helpers who manned the stalls and kept us all refreshed with food and drinks. Tradewinds at night was very busy for Linda and staff.  The auction was brilliant and we all danced and sang to the great music by Dynamic Duo.  And yes we did the Strip the Willow out on the street! It’s great that so many turn out and make it a super fun-filled community day. We’d already raised about £50,000 and at writing this, we think we have raised about a further £6000 this year (fantastic!).  We plan to keep going till we reach £100,000! Sarah had the idea of the Temperature Chart on the Co-op door so everyone can see how much money we have all raised.  All Round Signs made the sign for us and very kindly donated it to the walk. Thank you all again for your continuing support.
See you all next year.”

Heather’s Walk 2012

When Margaret Simpson and Sarah Walker started the walk in memory of their friend Heather it was to be for one year. Heather had been in the Highland Hospice for care so they decided to hold the walk to raise money for the Hospice. It was so successful they carried on and now 2012 will be their fifth year.
