The Great Tapestry of Scotland

Huge congratulations to Joan Kerr from Banavie for completing her epic embroidery which has now taken its place in The Great Tapestry Of Scotland.  After months of working into the night, Joan finally completed her panel (in honour of Sir Hugh Munro) in July 2013, and sent it off to Edinburgh to be joined up with all the 164 other panels.

Joan has earned herself a place in history.  We are immensely proud of her.

Very touchingly, in the small bottom right hand corner where stitchers had a tiny square to sign their work, Jean chose to include Kilmallie’s own pepperpot lighthouse as her emblem.
