The posters that were displayed at the NHSH drop-in in the Nevis Centre on 6 June can be accessed by clicking here.
There is another plan available by clicking here which is an update to the layout on the front page of the NHS Highland posters file and shows the Highland Council’s Phase 2 Housing. In order to ensure that the hospital will have sufficient ground, particularly parking, the community councils of Kilmallie, Caol and FW, Inverlochy & Torlundy, objected to the Highland Council’s planning application and forced a planning condition that the Phase 2C houses don’t proceed till the hospital’s needs are clarified. Further, a second condition makes provision to take buses (only) round the N side of the hospital, through the Phase 2 houses and back to the A830 roundabout. We tried negotiation, to no avail, so had to force the issue.
These plans can also be seen at Caol Library:
- Monday: 2 – 5;
- Tuesday: 10 – 1 and 4 -7;
- Wednesday: 2 – 5;
- Thursday: 10 – 1;
- Friday: 11 – 2.
The NHS Highland webpage that deals with the new Belford can be reached by clicking here. This site has improved over the period and now holds various press releases, the regular Lochaber Times column and the Initial Agreement (IA) with the Scottish Government.
While there is still debate on some clinical issues, the Community Stakeholders have achieved a number of improvements but there remain several points of concern.
